Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Pay Grade:  AU07 (248 days/8 hrs)

 

Primary Purpose:
Provide clerical support to ensure the efficient operations of the fleet department.

 

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Ability to speak Spanish preferred
Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus driver (S) endorsements
Possess and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
Ability to pass Department of Transportation annual physical examination
Valid Texas School Bus Driver Certification

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must be detail oriented
Ability to maintain accurate records and files
Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation
Knowledge of vehicle parts and their function
Proficient in data entry
Ability to use the automated fuel dispensing system
Ability to verbally communicate on two-way radio
Knowledge of school campuses, and a general knowledge of school district layout

 

Experience:
Previous data entry experience

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Organize and maintain parts stock room and inventory.
2. Maintain computer inventory records.
3. Tag incoming parts with barcodes and stock in designated location.
4. Update database system and delete unnecessary files.
5. Prepare, compile, and sort work orders for data entry.
6. Verify completeness and accuracy of data and correct when necessary.
7. File completed work orders and documents in designated location.
8. Coordinate restocking of parts with Shop Foreman as needed.
9. Assist in maintaining vendor folders.
10. Assist in maintaining daily vehicle mileage records.
11. Assist in maintaining daily fuel use and inventory level records.
12. Drive bus daily following assigned route and adhering to established schedules.
13. Submit to random drug and alcohol testing as required by Board Policy and Federal Law.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:


Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone, two-way radio, school bus and all related equipment.


Posture: Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, pulling, pushing, and extensive sitting.


Motion: Reaching, carrying, and climbing.


Lifting: Lifting up to 50 pounds.


Environment: Outside excessive heat, cold, humidity, dampness or chilling, intermittent noise, fumes, wind, dust and possibility of extended hours.


Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.
