Reports to: MEP Director
Primary Purpose:
Assist with cleaning, packing and relocating of classroom and campus materials.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
High School diploma, equivalent or GED preferred
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read and understand instruction for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures
Knowledge of minor repair techniques to perform minor repairs
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Knowledge of Hays CISD campuses preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of campus facilities, including repairing woodwork; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures.
- Assist with cleaning of school buildings and grounds.
- Disassemble, move, install, assemble, and repair materials and school furniture as needed.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing. Operate equipment and use tools according to established safety procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventive maintenance as required.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
